The Party's Over

I have passed on many trips going from California to southern Oregon. It is located on a two lane highway in the high desert near the border separating the two states. I suppose that at one time it was a popular dining and dancing mecca for the surrounding ranchers, and maybe even for a few travelers driving by on their way to some other destination. With each passing year, the sign deteriorated a bit more until finally it was apparent that the "party", in whatever form it took long ago, was now definitely over.

This painting was accepted into the 2018 Gold Medal Exhibition of the California Art Club and was sold during the exhibition.
