This is another painting in my series of discarded and abandoned chairs. I was attracted to the yin and yang of the shape of this chair and its shadow. I originally was going to paint the chair on a neutral background to play up this aspect, but realized after a false start that there needed to be a bit more of a story; hence the setting of lawn and distant shade.
