Western Water Tower

I have always loved man-made structures in the Western landscape. Like grain silos, water towers each have their own history and look. Their rusted tanks and long struts are a vertical counterpoint to the stretch of the horizon beyond. Indeed, there is hardly any other structure that so marries the "big skies" to the wide-open vistas of the West. It is that which I have tried to capture with this painting.
