Desert Read

This is a portrait of my husband. We were out in the middle of nowhere (actually, a long stretch of dirt road called Furnace Creek in Death Valley), and we decided to camp there.  We had seen no cars in the whole three hours we had be on the road, and it seemed perfect.  After setting up our tent, it was time to relax.  Seeing Steve reading surrounded by miles of beautiful empty western landscape captured at least two of the things that are so essentially Steve.
