Calling It a Day

In a small town near the Colorado/Utah border, there were ten or fifteen casitas with a motel sign indicating that they were a place to stay the night. The humble architecture and the faded paint of the dwellings indicated they had been there a long time and had seen better days, back when motorists didn't need the high rise sterility and predictability of a Hampton Inn. Instead, what these offered was a bit of unstudied rustic comfort after a long day of driving. Pull in and rest a spell.
