Steel and Wheat

This is one of two paintings I did of a grain processor located in the small town of Merrill, Oregon.  I was attracted to its proportions and weathered siding and the industrial aspect of the rail line running close to the loading dock of the building.  The sky was a beautiful blue, patterned with slowly passing clouds that carried a chance of rain and dappled the landscape with moody patches of sunlight and shadow.
