I came across this barn on a country road in eastern Oregon. It was late in the day and the structure radiated a kind of glowing presence. There was a straight forwardness in the shape of the barn and in the spacing of the dark and beckoning openings. They seemed to express in their very existence the quintessential symmetry and rhythms that often go unnoticed but are the underpinnings of rural life.
